Everyday Oils with Emery Green
When our client Young Living (www.youngliving.com) came to us with an idea for a series of videos to help promote their introductory packet of oils called the Everyday Oils, we had a heyday pitching multiple ideas, from serious to silly. We finally ended up with Everyday Oils with Emery Green, executed in a style similar to the Food Networks' Good Eats with Alton Brown. It is a fun and educational promotional video that sells while informing in an entertaining manner.
We scripted the introductory video and got the greenlight to begin casting. We saw a ton of great actors, but we started to get worried that we would never find the person with the right sensibility, talent, and energy we felt the role demanded. Then Nathan Sears walked into our offices. We knew the minute that we shook his hand that we had found our Emory Green.
The finished video premiered to great fanfare at the 2009 Young Living convention. It has been one of our favorite production experiences to date (which is high praise indeed since we love anytime we can roll up our sleeves and lock our camera into a Jib cradle), and this is mostly due to our most awesome day-to-day client, on this project at Young Living.
